INTRODUCING GIGI'S CLOSET: DON'T HATE ME BECAUSE I'M FIERCE AND GREEN
Gigi: Green Girls! You’ll never guess what! For my birthday, April 22 – Earth Day,
coincidentally – the Green Girls surprised me with an early present…my very own green couture wardrobe! It’s every girl’s dream come true. Each month, I’ll be
rockin’ a new couture creation from an amazing designer on our homepage. Flossy flossy over here. And better yet…Green Girl Guide newsletter subscribers get an oh-so-exclusive discount on a couture creation, as well! I seriously feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven. When I found out, I swear I started to try and bust out some 80s-style moves a-la-Roger Rabit, Running Man and Robot (Robot being the only one I was "remotely" good at). And we have to thank our kicky pal Kate Sullivan from Kick PR for sponsoring my glam new
threads – you may remember she was our ace reporter at the Portland Fashion Week shows. She, no doubt, has impeccable taste and we consider her an environista extraordinaire. You just HAVE to check in each month to see “Gigi’s Closet” sponsored by Kick PR. Thank you, Kate! I breathlessly await hearing about what I'll be wearing next (and this frock is sample size tight)…
Kate: Green Girls, Gigi is the luckiest girl I know! My DREAM is to have amazing eco-friendly designers
create a few outfits for me to choose from. I would be in heaven, just like Gigi is now because this month is the launch of Gigi’s closet and Kick PR has some amazing designers lined up.
This month you will notice Gigi is wearing a very fun frock by Leanimal. The Leanimal collection by Leanne Marshall is so eco fabulous we can’t even stand it. After launching her Spring08 collection at Portland Fashion Week, she was writing out orders (many from us here at Kick PR) for her fun dresses like the Lise and Rosandra styles which are gorgeous linen and hemp pieces. And only from GGG, Leanimal is offering 15% her Rosandra dress online (pictured here) at www.leanimal.com. Green Girls, check out the newsletter for the code.
The collection is titled Haphazard Origami which features champagne colored
frocks made with organic hemp linen and organic hemp organza detail wowed the crowd. For Spring 08, Leanimal is right on target with trends hot off the runway. Muted tones, ruffled and floral necklines and organic materials were big hits for Spring 08 and Leanimal offers it all. Check yourself out! We think its quite stunning on you, Gigi!
Gigi: I KNOW! I look damn good, not to toot my own horn…(toot toot!). :D So what am I wearing next? I have a few virtual dates coming up! More on that…my “green” dating is turning out to be more fruitful that I thought it would…hmmmm.
Kate: Glad you asked…we have some amazing things in store for you including NaturevsFuture, Anna Cohen, Lizzie Parker and more! So Green Girls, make room in your closet because when you see Gigi’s you’ll want it all!
Gigi: Well…it’s a good thing I’m a virtual personality (size=0101010101). I most definitely won’t have to share my fabu duds with anyone. However….I don’t mean to sound ungrateful….but, I do have one teensy weensy little request. We all know that you can’t strut without the perfect accessory and seeing as I’m a singleton and I don’t have Mr. Arm Candy as an accessory at the moment, I need to pimp out my four-legged bestie, my pooch, Pixel. Any suggestions?
Kate: Funny you should ask. I cringe when I see dogs wearing puffy vests and bulky wool sweaters. I
look down at my dog Elton and say “hey buddy, I won’t do that to you. That’s no way to live.” And until very recently I was totally against clothing on animals (except Chihuahua’s- someone needs to stop them from shaking). So, I came across From Scratch, a very chic and practical line of dog apparel including Elton’s new favorite eco-friendly “Pees on Earth” and “Green Apple” shirts. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they have included our furry little friends in this movement. And all of the details about what goes into the garments are on the website, so there’s no guessing. They go as far as to inform us that there is approximately 1.5 soda bottles that goes into each
shirt. Each shirt is $26 and there are TEN styles to choose from. And while I was on the website, I came across their “Love My Breed” tote which also happens to be eco-chic. There's even a "Dog Runs" NYC, LA and Chicago tote, for all you pet enthusiasts. So both Elton and I are stylish and feeling good because we are taking strides to improving the quality of our life. You should too! We think we can scare up a little outfit or two for Pixel. You both can totally rock the electronic runway together.
Gigi: Look at Elton…so cuuuuute and dapper. Oh! You’re the best. Green Girls, don’t be “green with
envy (pun fully intended).” Don’t hate me because I’m fierce…check out Gigi’s Closet deals and let me know what you think of my new look! You know what to do! Happy Earth Day!!! Let us know how you are planning to celebrate my birthday...er...I mean Earth Day, that is! :D
If green is the new black, shouldn't you know what you're wearing?
